Steve Radford
Steve Radford is a Principal Consultant and Technology Leader for 
Telematics and Telecommunications with Interfleet Technology Ltd. He 
has specialist expertise in Passenger Information, CCTV, Passenger 
Counting, Automatic Selective Door Operation, Train Management 
Systems and associated Telematics (including vehicle tracking), as 
used on railway rolling stock. Before joining Interfleet in 2003, Steve 
served more than 18years as Engineering Director of a leading supplier 
of Telecommunications and Passenger Information Systems. Between 
these roles he has acquired considerable experience in specifying, 
testing and problem solving GNSS and associated location solutions on 
UK and overseas rolling stock projects.
Railway Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) identified the importance 
of GNSS for UK Railway and commissioned several research 
studies. Steve supported RSSB in preparing a report for the project 
T686 ‘Production of an Industry Standard for the Use of Selective 
Door Operation’. 
Interfleet Technology Ltd. is a leading International Railway 
Consultancy, formed in 1994 from the InterCity Engineering arm of 
British Railways. In 1996 the company was privatised through a MEBO 
and has rapidly grown over the past ten years with over 500 
employees and more than twelve locations worldwide.
