Philip Davies Philip graduated in Mathematics with honours from Nottingham University in 1978. From 1982 Philip worked in the Space sector where he spent 9 years working on-site in France, Holland and Germany. During this period Philip worked on a variety of satellite missions predominantly in the science and satellite communications fields. Following his return to the UK in 1990 spent the next 6 years as a technical manager on several high profile space projects including the Cassini/Huygens mission to Saturn, the Ariane rocket flight safety system and the European satellite navigation initiatives, EGNOS and Galileo. Philip joined SSTL in February 2003 and is responsible for business development activities in Europe and North America. In 2003 he helped SSTL close the deal to build Europe's first navigation satellite, GIOVE-A, which was launched at the end of 2005. He was also responsible for several major contracts executed by SSTL such as a satellite for the US government's Los Alamos national laboratory, a satellite for a commercial customer in Spain and the contract with ESA for a second Galileo satellite. Philip hold a BSc, is a member of the British Computer Society and is a Charted Engineer.
